Jocelyne Daw is a recognized pioneer and leading expert in the evolution of authentic business and cause partnerships, and in the integration of marketing, branding and social impact. She is the internationally published author of Cause Marketing: Partner for Purpose, Passion and Profits (Wiley, 2006) and Breakthrough Nonprofit Branding: Seven Principles to Power Extraordinary Results (Wiley, 2010).
Jocelyne is a speaker and consultant in the burgeoning and evolving field of cause branding and social impact. As President of JS Daw & Associates, Jocelyne leads a practice that guides corporate and nonprofits in creating innovative cause brands that engage and inspire today’s increasingly socially conscious and active employee and citizen. Geoffrey Cape
Executive Director, Evergreen
Geoff is a co-founder of Evergreen and has been its executive director since our inception in 1991. Selected in 1999 as one of Canada’s “Top 40 Under 40” by The Globe and Mail Report on Business magazine, Geoff has also been honoured with the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal in recognition of “Canadians who have made outstanding and exemplary contributions to their communities or to Canada as a whole.” In 2005, Cape was inducted into an International Fellowship by Ashoka: Innovators for the Public. In 2007, Cape won the prestigious Schwab Foundation’s “Canadian Social Entrepreneur of the Year” Award, Canada’s top social entrepreneurship honour. Cape is currently a board member of Parc Downsview Park, is on the Steering Committee of Lake Ontario Park, was founding Chair of the Sustainability Institute, and is a past member of the Peter F. Drucker Foundation Selection Committee.

Dr. Stephen B. Scharper
Author, Professor, Scholar of the Environment
Dr. Scharper’s research and teaching is in the areas of environmental ethics, worldviews and ecology, as well as nature and the city. He is the author of Redeeming the Time: A Political Theology of the Environment, and co-editor of a new, forthcoming volume, The Natural City: Re-envisioning Human Settlements (University of Toronto Press).
Embodying the values of “public scholarship” and a deep commitment to engaging with environmental issues, Dr. Scharper currently serves as a columnist for The Toronto Star, Canada’s largest newspaper. He has appeared as a commentator on CTV News, VISION-TV, CityPluse 24, and CBC’s Counterspin as well as CBC Radio’s “Tapestry” and “Sounds Like Canada.” He has also contributed over 400 reviews and articles to various academic journals, including Religious Studies Review, Worldviews, Environmental Philosophy, The University of Toronto Quarterly, Social Analysis, and has also published in more popular venues such as Commonweal, America, The Hour, The Montreal Gazette, The Walrus, and The Globe and Mail.
Dr. Scharper has taught at McGill University, Prescott College, the University of Waterloo, the University of Vermont, and the University of Notre Dame, where he held the John A. O’Brien Chair in Ethics as a Visiting Professor.
Providing a unique blend of the scholarly and the accessible in both his teaching and public speaking, Dr. Scharper has spoken to and inspired a wide range of audiences and remains a much sought-after lecturer.

Bob Willard, PhD
Author and Speaker
Bob is a leading expert on quantifying and selling the business value of sustainability strategies and has given hundreds of keynote presentations to corporate, government, university, and NGO audiences. Bob applies his business and leadership experience from his 34-year career at IBM Canada to engage the business community in proactively avoiding risks and capturing opportunities associated with environmental and social issues.
His has authored three books: The Sustainability Advantage (2002), The Next Sustainability Wave (2005), and The Sustainability Champion’s Guidebook (2009
Bob serves on the advisory boards of The Natural Step (TNS) Canada, Learning for a Sustainable Future (LSF), and Durham Sustain Ability (DSA), and is a member of the Education Alliance for a Sustainable Ontario (EASO), the Durham Region Roundtable on Climate Change (DRRCC), and the International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP).
He has a BSc from McGill University (1964) and an MEd (2000) and PhD (2005) from the University of Toronto. A resident of Ontario, he is the proud owner of two hybrid cars: a Honda Accord Hybrid and a Honda Civic Hybrid.
